I want to know whether I even have a chance to get into a UC.

My weighted state including my sophomore and junior year's GPA is 3.4 and my sophomore year's grades were:
English: A/A
Honors Geometry: D/D (Will make this up Senior year)
Honors Chemistry: C/D (Taking AP Chem Senior year to make this up)
Spanish II: A/A
P.E.: A/A
World History: A/A

Junior year:
Spanish III: A/B
Honors English: B/A
Anatomy/Physiology: C/C
AP Biology: B/B
US History: A/A
Algebra II: A/A

My prospective senior year schedule looks like this:
AP Gov/Econ
AP English
AP Chem
Choir (For my UC performing art requirement)
Trig/Precal
Honor's Geometry (To retake, yeah I know I messed up sophomore year.)

I have 75 hours of community service and I've been in red cross club for two years and recycling club for 2 years. I am also a board member for recycling club. My SAT score was 1800. I just want to know whether I can even get into a UC. My current goal is UC Riverside and and know I probably don't even have a chance at getting into UCSB. I just want to know whether I have an alright chance of getting into a UC. Any UC. Except Merced.

I think you will get into UCR

Thank you for your input.

Bump…

More bumping.

you will also prolly get into UCSC
which in my opinion is your best bet
much better than riverside

Appreciate your input.

One of my friends got
into UCR with a 1550 and an F on Pre-Cal. You will get in. It depends on your major though.

Do you think I can get in as an undecided? or do I need to choose something that isn’t very impacted?

It’s up to your personal statement.

I have to work on that then.

With an SAT score of 1800, you fall in the top 50% of UCR applicants. Your grades aren’t that bad either, if you exclude your hchem hgeo and anatomy/physiology. Unfortunately, based on your current academic record, it seems that you’re overloading yourself senior year. Its better to get a 4.0 with only 1-2 weighted classes than a 3.5 with 4 weighted… If you aren’t applying for a math/engineering/science/pre-med major, you should be fine. although i would recommend that you go to a community college and then transfer, because you can probably get into a better UC by doing that and you will also save thousands of dollars. To answer your question, yes you have a chance at the lower tier UC’s although most of them above UCR would probably be reach schools

Are you sure I’m overloading myself? I can change that. I thought that universities like seeing strength of schedule senior year. Also can I get in without making up my D’s? Or do I have to?

You have taken 2 weighted classes each year and have gotten B’s and C’s in them. You’ve ony ever taken 1 AP class, and you got a B both semesters. Next year, you’re taking 3 Ap classes and an honors class that you did poorly in before, not to mention that your’e taking AP chem, which is one of the hardest AP classes in general, made even worse by that fact that you did poorly in Honors Chem in 10th grade and you’ve had a yearlong break between the classes, so it’s likley that you have forgotten a significant amount. It seems as if you are going to overload yourself, so perhaps you might want to change that. Other than that, I can’t really say anything about making up the D’s because I don’t know the UC’s policy about that. However, you did get A’s in Algebra 2 so that should help show imporvement.

My hope is starting to dwindle now… But thanks for your help.

Bump…
