I want to save money using AP scores

I can borrow bucks from an Indian bank

800 usd*

Look at the international column here:

And look at the footnotes for additional fees by major. I assume the fees are annual.

You are required to purchase health insurance as well per this link. It is an additional $1,930 for the full year.

@intparent i think i cant attend purdue now. Thank you for making me aware of costs. I need to attend UMinnesota now. Does that make difference. Purdue is 5th nationally in civil engineering and uMinnesota is ranked 50-100. I am gonna work hard at both the places. Does attending University of Minnesota really make a difference?

I happen to live near U-MN. I think you will find it to be a very fine college for engineering.

LOL brush off the haters @Ryanite

@gormar099 i didn’t get you. Please elaborate

@Ryanite I was just remarking it was funny everyone thought you couldn’t get in and then you did. Good luck with everything.

@gormar099 Lol. i wanted to prove myself so i waited and came back to the thread when i got in. Do you think i have any chance of getting into Georgia Tech

Ga Tech with a 1580 SaT score i dont think you have a chance.

@scubadive 1650 SAT. It is 1650

For class of 2019 admits avg SAT score was 2185 with like an avg of 10 AP’s.

Let us see what happens. I have already applied. Will notify once decision is released.

Getting in does no good if you can’t pay for it… Colleges DO like full pay internationals. They help pay the bills for students getting FA. GA Tech appears to be $49,000 per year for an OOS student (can’t tell if the health insurance is included, but it is going to be required at every school).

Georgia Tech is more selective than Purdue, so it’ll be much harder to get in, that being said if you like it there I’d go for it. Don’t let some people on the internet stop you from applying where you want especially considering your scores werent that close to Purdue’s averages either, there’s probably some EC that really stood out or you had good essays. You probably should look at a wider variety of schools if you have your heart set on America. Even at schools not ranked great you can get a great education so if you find a school that appears affordable and you think you can get in, you should go for it. Especially this early, you still have a while to get RD applications in so, broaden your horizons and find a good fit.

Thank you both of you. My sat score is not a concern as georgia tech sees sat score just for english proficiency. And i have toefl ibT for it in which i have scored good and my gpa is also fine. I cant afford gatech either. Thats true but i can take loans for it. It is worth it. If not then i would prefer tamu or uminnesota

Are you sure you can get the loans? A US student would not be able to borrow that much on their own. Their parents might be able to, but then the parents are obligated to make sure repayment occurs. I personally do not think GT is worth borrowing an extra $60,000 for your undergraduate degree over U-MN.

I think money is bothering me too much. I will go to umn or tamu.

If accepted. Lol

UMN is really an excellent option! Congratulations. :slight_smile:
