I want to transfer to Harvard.

Olvbabse gives us a rant with no facts. There is absolutely NO evidence that “normal” people beat the 1 - 2% admit rate at these schools. Olvbabse has provided us with no evidence of his own background, or his own ECs, or his own stats, or his own positioning strategy that resulted in his alleged admits to these schools. I nominate Olvbabse’s post as an early contender for most misleading, most vapid post of the year.

This guy, waylay00, transferred to Harvard from Vanderbilt. He clearly stated that he was a normal guy who applied himself. In the end ordinary people can make it as long as you apply yourself to do extraordinary things.

Another misleading post. waylay00 was accepted as a freshman as well, so… yeah.

Assuming the school isn’t extremely easy, no he won’t. Most people at Harvard don’t know multiple languages themselves.

To the op, apply if and only if it will not hurt the quality of your applications for match schools. Remember to think realistically. If you have the time for Harvard’s app, then go for it and don’t let anyone tell you any differently.

Agree that anyone accepted as a fr, like waylay was, is not in a situation similar those coming from a CC or significantly lower ranked school:

I really don’t know why this is always such a big argument. Sure, anything is possible, but likely, not so much. Just work hard, use a clear mind to assess your position when it’s time to apply, and construct a reasonable list.

Hope and dream, yes. Just don’t put all of your eggs into that basket, hedge your bets with some sure things. Then, if you end up at the sure thing instead of the dream, take advantage of all the opportunities offered and make the most of it, it is likely to serve you well and advance you towards where you want to go.

Happy New Years to all!

harvard dosnt accept transfer? this thread is pointless

^I won’t judge whether or not this thread is pointless, but H started accepting transfers again last year.
