I'm setting up my application right now, just need to finish my essays, and finish this semester for my updated transcript.
I'm a 2nd year student at University of Houston. My current major is Engineering (with a minor in History), and I have always wanted to be an Engineer, but I have a STRONG interest in Journalism and History; thus I have the inclination to pursue it

I'm applying for the Fall 11 school year, since you need to make a Pre-Journalism as your major for school of first choice. My second choice of school is COLA -History.
First School of choice: College of Communications - Pre-Journalism
Second School of choice: College of Liberal Arts - History

My current GPA is a 3.45/4.0
Also this is my first UH semester, I attended a community college for my GE due to economic troubles. My UH GPA is a 0 since this is my first semester, but HCC has it as 3.45/4.0
Do they consider my classes from my previous school as well?

I'm worried because if I don't get in this Fall 11, then I'm just going to stay at UH =/

My plans for the future is to apply for the Peace Corp. and then do Grad school as a International Affairs major, or something very similar to it.

My question is, what are my chances for both Col. of Comm. and COLA. should I put "undeclared" for the COLA instead of History?
I'm just worried overall. Should I also apply early, within this month or next month (Transfer deadline is March 1st)

Thanks for hearing me out!!
