I want to transfer with a 3.4 GPA, but had a 2.0 in High School and poor SATS.

I've always wanted to get into film school and have what people call an encyclopedia equivalent knowledge of film, but I had awful grades in high school and practically bombed my SATs and was rejected by all schools when I applied as a senior last year, and was only granted admission into a safety school. in the school i'm in now, I have a 3.4 GPA and have a bunch of faculty members supporting me and encouraging me to transfer, but I'm worried i won't get into any school other than a state school because of my awful performance in high school.
i'm also trying to figure out when to apply, as the fall 2010 deadline is approaching, and my own father is telling me to wait it out. my grades were just God awful in high school and my SATs completely sucked, my highest score being 1470, and i feel that even with a strong performance, great recommendations, constant visits and a portfolio, i'm not going to get in anywhere. it's not like i want to go to NYU or USC, because i know they're the Ivy Leagues of my field.

In all desperation, I ask: What do I do, and do I really have a chance?

You should def. apply, whats the worst that could happen? Once your in college, your high school grades and sat’s take less of a value. A 3.4 isnt too bad and shows improvement from high school. There are plenty of success stories on this website, check them out! Also check out “A+ schools for B students” google it lol
