i want to travel and study the types of medicines that different cultures use. major?

well the title is pretty much the gist of it. should i focus on anthropology, biological or cultural?
and what other areas should i take classes in?
thanks!

In the absence of a medical anthropology program (I was surprised that such a specialised undergraduate major exists; UNC Chapel Hill seems to offer that), cultural anthropology would be your best bet.

You might also find interesting classes in the history or regional studies or public health departments. My own college offers courses such as “Topics in African History:-Soc & Cultl Hist of Medicine” (history), “Medicine, Magic & Miracles” (classics), and “Medicine, the Body & Society” (sociology).

that sounds almost exactly what i’ve been leaning towards! what college are you attending?
