i love alternative medicine and anything that can help people without deadly side effects. eating healthy, all natural ingredients, blah, blah, blah.

i also love cultures, and i plan to travel wherever i can because other countries fascinate me. i was thinking before that i would major in something like anthropology or history, but now i think a medical approach to my interests would make for an awesome major :)

and right now i'm dreaming of Rice University!

thanks for your input!

How about something like a major in biology? You can always go on to some grad/professional school and get something you’re interested in (nutrition?). Anthropology would be good for your interest in people/cultures, but I don’t know how close to medicine you can get with a major like that except for maybe med school. I’m no expert, but this is what came to mind.

Biologically anthropology. I took a class in it, and it was fascinating: a nice blend of cultures and how it intertwines with biology. One of my favorite lessons (guest visitor, so it was quick and I don’t remember much) was on an ebola epidemic and the new burial traditions thanks to it, as well as the spread of the disease. The biological anthropologists studied these new traditions as well as the biological effects of the epidemic. Sound interesting?

so i was thinking maybe an undergrad degree in anthropology focused on biomedical/medical maybe? only one school offers a biomedical anth. major. we’ll see, i got a bit of time. hahah.
