I wanted to apply ED, but couldn't?

This is is a slightly odd question. A month ago I was planning to apply ED to WM (my #1 choice) and got all my gears in motion to get my application completed for the deadline.

I polished off all my essays and had my recommendations sent out. Then, to my surprise my parents decided that it would be better if I applied RD, saying that "they would feel more comfortable if I had more options." I guess that is understandable from their point of view, but since WM is my first choice, I would much rather know in December than March or April...

Anyway, would it hold any weight during admissions if I made it clear that WM is my first choice, and that I would attend if admitted? My recommendations were actually sent out before the ED deadline, so they are post marked before Nov 1st and I assume they are sitting in a folder somewhere in Williamsburg.

Also, while I'm at it it, does a 2050 SAT or a 31 ACT give a Puerto Rican Male like myself a solid shot?

Course rigor and extracurriculars are quite solid.
In-state you have a shot, OOS may be pushing it - looking at the numbers alone. I think that showing that you are familiar with and appreciate the school would help your application to a degree, but I am not sure of the wisdom of directly stating that it is your #1 choice. That one could fall in either direction, IMHO.
Good luck!

I think that if you noted in your application that you had intended to apply ED but your parents asked you to apply RD that might carry a bit more weight than simply stating W&M is your top choice (the Committee likely hears that a lot RD).
