I was deferred from Georgetown’s SFS. I think my test scores are holding me back, but my essays and ECs were great. How can I improve my chances for the RD round?
Can you donate?
You could take the tests again. Write a letter that shows your continued interest in the school.
Good luck to you! Remember, the college process is a crap shoot. Many applicants who apply to schools like Georgetown are very qualified, but there are only a certain number of spots.

Send new grades in to show you worked hard during your senior year fall semester.
Send next quarter grades, also consider a nice letter to your admissions counselor that reinforces your desire to attend (if it’s your 1st choice and you will attend if accepted then SAY SO).
Good luck to you!
Georgetown is tougher to get in at a EA, then RD, so the fact that you were deferred does not necessarily mean they found a weakness in your app.
Not much you can do. I would write a letter of continuing interest to the admissions officer saying (if true) that Gtown remains your top choice of college and (if true) if admitted you will attend. Keep it short and sweet. If you have any meaningful updates (awards etc.) you can send them to the admission officer as well. Also keep your first semester grades up.
Once you write the letter of continuing interest, move on and apply to other schools assuming you will not get into Gtown. There are tons of great colleges out there.
How about being deferred to CW with a 4.0 all AP courses. ACT 35. Active in EC’s and volunteer work and have a part time job? Great recommendations. What more do they want ?
