Ascending a tourist in NetHack is a far more worthy and difficult goal than getting As in all my classes.

So put simply, I don't.

bit torrent is pretty dangerous. Once I tried to download GTA san andreas and it led to a serious virus on my computer.
Getting a virus or something like that from torrents is your fault. Use a site that lets people comment on the torrents, and only use it after you're sure it's legit.

As for the poster's question, I know what you mean. Exactly what you mean. It's 1 AM for me right now. And look what I'm doing. I avoid doing summer work and finding a job. My game of choice is CS. I don't know how I've gotten as much as I have done. I don't do this, but try this out:
If you are playing your game, and realize that you should be doing something else, you can fix that in a matter of seconds. Build up the will, and hold the power button on your computer until it shuts off. Hope it works. lol

Starcraft is pretty cheap. I think you can buy the original for like 9.99 and the battle chest which includes the original and the expansion for 20 dollars. Starcaft involves a large amount of strategy, nothing I can sum into one post easily. The rushes involve strategic thinking and fast reactions. I can go into more depth about specific things but to answer your question, there is plenty of strategy in starcraft.

actually, i got burned copy of AOEII from a friend, not from bittorrent. but i feel nostalgic nonetheless.

AOEII doesn't require a cd key!

Hey - do you want a world of warcraft gift card? :D

this thread is the story of my life. jk, but seriously, i need start doing more productive things.

I use a timer to keep myself on task. Like today, I am giving myself 30 minutes of play time for every hour that I do more meaningful work. CC is considered play time.

lol i am exactly the same...each day i tell myself that i'll work hard and then i just end up watching tv, eating, or playing some stupid game

ya me too...

****ing hell I do waste too much time
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?p=2702110

so I was looking at zeta(3)'s posts. He's a homeschooled student who got the caltech waitlist (he has exactly the plan I would have done had I chosen my education plan - his education plan was EXACTLY what I dreamed of when I realized how pitiful my school educational system was). but damn - he invested his time well.

and i haven't.

i don't even know why i returned here in the first place. frankly, reading ben golub and sakky posts is rewarding for its own sake, and so was debating with sakky, but why the hell did i come back here? it wouldn't have been so bad if i didn't care about what others think of me - but i do. and now i lost a lot of time here.

there were some other productive debates and interesting questions i raised up - and posting in forums really doesn't take that much time. what DOES take up time is refreshing the pages for replies just because you ****ing care so much about how others will respond to your damn posts
