I agree that 21 is going to be the issue not 18. Senior year you're sick of the same old thing and want to do stuff you haven't been able to - like go to all those bars that card - and you can't join your friends for that if you're 20 senior year.

but hey, whatever happened to the fake IDs?
I mean, I plan on going to the 21+ clubs BEFORE I'm 21.... Are my plans doomed to fail?

I am often mistaken for being 30 although I'll only be 20 this year. Since i just missed the cutoff day for school in kindergarten (cutoff was 8/31, I was born 9/4) I've always been old.

I think it's facial hair that makes me look old. I sort of look like Benito Santiago without earrings or tattoos (although I'm not Mexican).

Basically, the downfall to not being 18 is that you can't vote. I was happy to be able to vote in my first presidential election as a HS senior and have even used absentee ballots to do my duty to the country.

Unless you are going to waste your life getting drunk/smoking, you don't have to worry about age.

Hey I don't know about all of you guys and gals but Im 18 years old and there is no way I will ever party with a 17 year old, its like such a big difference 17 year olds are so uncool. EVERY ONE KNOWS that it is physically impossible for a 17 year old to get drunk or even laid (don't say parting isn't about getting drunk you know damn well that it is).
Man i dont know about you, but about 6 months ago when I was 17 I knew how to get down. Id say that you are actually at an advantage. Youre younger, you can stay up later, your body is overall just in a lot better shape than an 18 year olds body. Most of my 18 year old friends have already had hip replacements, struggle with gout, and have horrible backs. Cherish your youth as long as you can because once you can legally appear in porn its all down hill.

c'mon now roy that could not have been a serious post... what were you thinking

What? I never responded! :p

*** youre only 1 year old than a 17 year old man... why do you have to think we cant party or get laid. whoa ....WRONG and then you say you were the great exception? okay whatever

The social experience in college as far as what you can or cannot do is not going to be different if you are 16, 17 or 18. The time this comes up is age 21. My daughter went to college at 16 and is currently a freshman. She has now turned 17. She won't turn 18 until fall of soph year. Not being 18 has not had any effect on her social life or activities. Oh, as far as the joke above, she actually does have screws in her hip holding it back together.

I haven't turned 18 yet... and I'm a first year college student but technically a junior in credits. Most all my classes are with older people and it doesn't matter AT ALL. I joined a sorority and they don't care. People, parties, clubs, etc don't discriminate unless you look and act like you're in middle school.
