Admission Status: Pending Admissions Decision
“Your file is currently under review and pending an admission decision based on self-reported information and/or documents received. You may expect an admission decision by the end of May for a Fall term start or early December for a Winter term start.” [Status Date: 12/6/2016]
I am not a transfer applicant; I am a high school senior becoming a college freshman in Fall. I know that some other applicants have had this status as well (@Sona2013 posted about this a while ago), so I’m wondering if this is simply a text placeholder as a “definition” of pending admissions. I’m also wondering if this status is something new that CPP is trying this year. If anyone else has this status, could you comment below? Or, if this is something that I should be concerned about, could you notify me as well? Thank you.
It’s not common for a high school freshman to wait until May. I’m in the same boat as you but I’m a transfer applicant. One of the colleges I need to wait is penn state. Since my major requires calc 1 C or above I need to wait. In the fall I got a D so I’m retaking it now. Do you have by any chance a D in a major course? That would make scene for you to wait until May.
I’ve never gotten a grade under a C+. The only time I’ve gotten a C+ was for one semester of Chemistry Honors (my sophomore year). However, most of my science grades have been on the mid to lower side of Bs, so this could possibly be one of the reasons that you’ve mentioned. My main concern is that I have already gotten an acceptance from Cal State Long Beach, my second choice, and the deadline for enrollment is May 1. If I have to wait until after May 1 for Cal Poly Pomona, my first choice, then that’s a very risky option for me.

You can tell the other college to extend the deadline telling them “waiting for other college to respond”
If you are a Freshman, the SIR date for all Freshman is May 1, so I would contact CPP and ask what the email means. Also, only Transfers can apply for Winter Term, so maybe they sent the wrong message.???
Contact them, that’s really not right. We’re supposed to have our commitment by May 1st. I know someone else (undergrad out of high school) who said theirs said the same thing. Get to the bottom of it! It’s bothering me that they’d be careless about this…they’re also taking really long with any decisions
My son called and they said that decisions will be heard before Apr 31st.
Oh that’s a relief. Thank you for the information. CPP should really fix this so there’s less confusion.
