IB and SAT Subject Test

My daughter is planning to tale Hl bio next year. She is sophomore pre IB now. I am confused when to take SAT subject test.
She is taking math pacesetter (Algebra 2 + Pre Calc) this sophomore year. She will take AP Calc AB next junior year which is also sl math. Should she take SATII Math 2 this year or next year.

I can’t speak on bio, but the general rule is to take Math 2 after precalc, so probably the end of this year would bd brst

I would take bio subject test after HL bio, not pre IB bio, but understand that the IB bio doesn’t line up with the subject test bio. She will have to learn some topics on her own. (AP Bio is better prep for bio subject test)

For math, she should take Math II either in May/June (after finish pre-calculus) or sometime next year. It is generally a good idea to take the subject tests right after completing the course as the material is usually fresh in your mind, although I didn’t quite adhere to this rule.

I am still confused since most of the students in her school take SAT subject test for Math 2 after Calc Ab (sl Math) at the end of junior year.

@1daughtmom That’s fine. Whenever she is ready is the best time to take Math II. Some take it later because the tests are not usually required until senior year.

For example, I took Math II and Physics the October of my senior year. I had Calc BC junior year and Calc AB sophomore year.

I had a question about that to. My youngest daughter is in Pre-IB. She is taking Physics right now. She is in 9th grade. If she wanted to take the SAT subject test when do she take it. Same thing with bio. She is taking bio in 10th grade.
