IB History HL or IB Chem HL?

My sister is going into IB and she is deciding between these two subjects. She would like to apply to the US as an international and study economics (she aims for the Ivy League or other T20). What subject is better considering her major choice(not only for admissions but also for building a foundation for studying eco in uni)? Currently, she doesn’t have any preference as she likes both of the subjects and so far, she has found it rather easy to get top marks from them.

For my DS’ IBD program, there is a social study requirement (IB history, Econ, global politics are the three options), and science components (physics, chem, or bio). In theory, she could take both chem and history, then math, English, foreign language, and a sixth one (art or double science).

For her subjectd, she’d need

  1. history or economics HL
  2. foreign language preferably HL, if not SL rather than ab initio
  3. Maths AI HL or AA SL
  4. English
  5. a science SL (ESS is fine)
  6. another social science.
So, history would likely be the best choice.
