IB or all sat subject tests?

Well here's my dilemma.

I'm about to graduate from Newton College (Lima - Peru). Now I have to decide what to next year (before applying to Caltech)

I can either stay for the 2nd year of International Baccalaurette (i'm doing Physics out of the 3 sciences) and the school has offered me the chance to change from Arts (which is one of the courses i've done this year) to Biology (means a lot of work but i'm sure i could do it if i really want to). Anyway, if I do this, i'd take the biology (both ecological and molecular tests) test and the physics one. apart from the sat maths level 2 and from the regular sat.

I can say goodbye to the school for ever and instead get into a kind of college to prepare for 'university' in order to study the 3 sciences + maths (in an intense way i mean, focusing only in science and maths). and after that, taking all the sat subject tests (the ones i've mentioned above + the chemistry one).

and well then apply to Caltech.

which of both do you recommend me? i really can't decide. i think both ideas are great and even if i don't get in, I'll have a good curriculum.. (if i get good grades) for any other university.

btw i want to study Biomolecular science. I've never been that extraordinary in science but i'm nuts about it.
