I'm a freshman so the only full IB course I can take is IB-SL Math Studies --- it gives surprisingly little work, actually. Definitely less than my Pre-IB Geography class.

I not doing the full program, just the following:

IB French SL
IB English HL
IB European History HL
IB Math HL

In addition, I'm doing AP Biology and Choir this year, and AP Physics C and Choir next year. I'm not doing the full diploma because:

a) I can't give up choir. I love it too much and the school doesn't offer IB Music.
b) I can't stand the idea of taking only Biology (there's no IB Physics). I'd really like to be able to take physics before I graduate.

And that's what I'm left with. So far, the workload isn't really that bad. English is pretty hard, though. (Its weird not reading British or American Lit. We're doing the works in translation component next semester; that ought to be interesting. I've read a few translated books (Les Miserables, The Metamorphosis, a couple others) so we'll see how it goes!)

I am currently doing the IB program, and I defintely have enjoyed going in depth in certain subjects and really grasping the meaning as opposed to rushing through a text book and not touching on anything of real substance. I dislike the EE the most, although I am only just starting it, but doesn't every IB student? I have had he most difficulty with math, but then again so is the rest of the class. I have defintely had the most satifaction after completing a very good presentation in English.

TOK is the absolute worse. At first I was going to say the EE but.. ya.. At least for the EE you can have some sort of fun/purpose. TOK is just pointless...

IB is too strict...you get no credit for the IB diploma for taking IB classes 7th grade, 8th grade, 9th grade, or 10th grade, etc. Until you are an upperclassmen.

The languages rape and that is pretty much it.

As a sophomore, I'm only taking one IB class (IB computer studies) and it surprisingly gives very little homework and is relatively easy. I mean octal hexidecimal and binary seem very basic.

mj93, how are you taking an actual IB class already? I'm also an IB freshman, and we are absolutely not allowed to take ANY IB classes until 11th grade, when the program actually starts. I'm pretty sure I'm qualified for at least one, but we weren't given that option. How do you take yours?

In our school kids in the magnet program get to take IB Diploma starting sophomore year. As far as I know, we are the only HS in the nation to do that though.

at my school ib is kind of a joke.. i did it just because i thought it would be easier than taking a crapload of ap classes.. but now i realized i have to take the ap tests anyway just because i probably won't ever get much ib credit but yet i still have to pay over 600 dollars for the ib exams. i mean that's not stupid or anything..
