IB- who knows about it

anyone taking IB classes and if so, where? What classes are you taking and what ib exams are you taking? if you're not taking IB, how's AP. AP Chemistry- hard or easy?

I'm an IBer. History, English, and biology are our program's HL subjects. I'm taking math, German, and art history SL. And then of course there is TOK. I'm taking exams for all these classes, since I basically have to. I already took the art history exam, and got a 3 on it---not so good, but oh well. I'm doing my extended essay in math, specifically on game theory. I'm not making much progress toward the 150 CAS hours...

AP classes vary wildly from school to school. At my school, AP chemistry is a complete joke of a class, which is why I've taken two years of it.

I have taken IB and I am finished with it...

Classes:
HL Biology
HL History
HL English :(:(:(:(
SL Psychology
SL Math Studies
SL Spanish
TOK

I took exams...more or less...for every class

I can't help you with AP chem...

I took IB at a large public high school in Canada. There were 650 people in my grade, with 200 taking IB certificate (1-5 subjects), 44 taking the IB diploma, and 9/44 taking a bilingual diploma (myself included).

I took both the classes and exams for:
HL - English A1, History of Europe in French, Chemistry
SL - Math Methods in French, Biology, French A2
TOK
and wrote my EE in Peace and Conflict Studies.

Math HL
Spanish A1 HL
Physics SL
TOK
English A2 HL
Economics HL
Business and Management SL

I'm gonna start my senior year of IB, all donde with junior year, in which btw, I did a lot better than I thought I would.

AP Chem is hard as hell. (because my teacher was a terrible teacher. She was a nice lady who knew her material and stuff, she just couldn't teach it.) However, the curve makes up for it. To pass, you only have to get half the multiple choice questions and a third of the FR questions right.

I'm taking:

IB English HL
IB U.S. History HL(I'm not sure, but I'm pretty sure all IB U.S. History is HL in my school)
IB Math Methods II SL(I'd maybe take HL if they offered it)
IB Biology SL

I also took one year of IB French SL, but didn't take the exam.

took biology sl

taking
ib math studies sl
ib business sl
ib psych hl
ib english hl
ib spanish hl

Anyone start there extended essay yet, I still haven't picked a topic, AHHHHHHHHHHH, I have to turn in my first draft Aug.28,I'M dead!!

I'm taking the bilingual diploma at a small (50 kids in the class of '07) IB-only private school in DC.

English A1 HL
French A1 HL
Chemistry HL
Biology SL
Mathematics SL
History SL

I'm doing my Extended Essay in chemistry, and our first drafts were due on May 8th.

camelia, I commend your school for taking care of EE's early on. My school only has us come up with a topic during the regular school year, and work on it over the summer. Luckily, since I'm only taking 4 courses, I don't have to write an EE. Hooray partial IB program.

Anyone start there extended essay yet, I still haven't picked a topic, AHHHHHHHHHHH, I have to turn in my first draft Aug.28,I'M dead!!

AUGHHHHHH tahnk god our shcool is like really liberal on the EE, they basically say " its your responsibility, find time, do it , we'er not gonna hold your hand"....so lots of seniors tend to procrastinate and write it up the week before its due

I'm gonna start on mine the last week of vacations, just becuase the teacher I picked as my supervisor asked for a copy of some sort when school started. I might procrastinae though, and just explain to her that I didn't have time, she'll understand (anyways I aced her class so she likes me).

My school schedules an "Extended Essay Week" in April when classes are canceled and everyone just spends a week working on their essays. I spent the entire week in the lab getting results for my experiment without actually writing anything, but some of the kids who wrote their essays in the humanities actually finished their first drafts during the week. It makes everything a lot less stressful (except that I have a massive rewrite looming ahead because I procrastinated and wrote a horrendously bad draft... but that's really my own fault).

^Thats amazing, I wish my school would do that...at least that way we don't have to use summer/skip class etc

Guys, your talk about EE makes me wanting to go to IB even more. That is cruel, I have one more year!! :)

Wow... I only did my research and first draft for my EE during Christmas break of IB2. Mind you, my research consisted of me brining about 10 books on vacation, reading them, and putting stickies on the parts I wanted to use. I did choose my topic in the summer between years though. While I kind of wish my school had been more strict about EE deadlines, I know I wouldn't have done as well if they had. My first semester of English A1 HL in IB2 was intense. Combine that with a girl who works much better under pressure from a looming deadline, and you have better writing overall.

Hey, I got an A on it in the end. ;)

im in the same boat as FSU-UF and megaman123....need a roughdraft by Aug 28 and i havnt even picked what my research is gonna be about...it has to be chemistry just havnt picked what experiment im gonna do....im dead lol any ideas??

^Why? are you a masochist? The EE is BS, absolute busy work.

I'm starting IB1 in September...I'm excited...

^Oh god...what has the world come to......lol j/k I was excited about having my Math HL final, so I'm not one in the position of making fun of your excitement
