<p>I'm starting wake forest MBA in august and was wondering about the chances I would be able to get a job in investment banking after graduation. My background is insurance underwriting. I would like to work for a bank in Charlotte nc... B of a or wells Fargo (wachovia). Any opinion appreciated!</p>
<p>it seems like boa and wachovia are the only banks recruiting there. my guess is that without previous banking experience you will have a hard time, since competition for those positions will be intense. imo, your only realistic chance is to network like crazy (putting in 100s of hours).</p>
<p>Thanks for the reply. I actually know a vp at wells so I will start there. I was also thinking about trying to get an internship of some sort during my last year. Would an internship of some sort make a difference</p>
<p>Be careful with BofA, they are moving quite a few jobs to NYC. I would assume they will have a regional presence in Charlotte, but most of the equty & fixed income research people are in NYC.</p>
