IB program

If you're a full IB diploma candidate, by how much does it increase your chances of getting into Berkeley?

Does anyone know?

there are too many other factors. Yea, it could help, but if you have lacking gpa, EC's, essays, etc, it won't matter a whole lot.

I see. Thanks for replying.

I guess the only advantage is that my weighted GPA is higher since I get that extra point.

It helps in the sense that the admissions officers will see that you are taking the most rigorous program of study. However, it is one of many factors that are taken into account. It is definitely a boost as is the AP program, but ultimately test scores, extracurricular activities and the personal statement are still important.

I would say that IB is worthwhile because it actually helps prepare you for college. The credit and the admissions boost are more of a bonus, in my opinion.
