IB Scores and GPA?

<p>I'm new to IB so I'm really confused on how the system works.
I know that the scale goes from 1-7 (7 being an A+) so on a 4.0 GPA scale, would a 7 surpass my unweighted GPA?</p>

<p>And on another note,
How hard is IB Bio SL and IB English SL?
I'm aiming for a 4.0 my junior year, and these are the only classes i'm concerned about! Assuming I get A's in the rest of my classes, would it be realistic for me to get A's in these IB courses and attain a 4.0? (not doing diploma)</p>

<p>From what I saw on the internet (on an IB forum), gpa is calculated like this:
HL: 7=5.0; 6=4.5 and so on
SL: 7=4.67; 6=4.17 and so on
^ that’s weighted gpa</p>

<p>I’m not sure how it really works though. I’m doing the full diploma and it my school does not count it that way</p>
