Hi all I am currently a senior high school student and I am doing the IB program in my school. This is some information on the IB program:
( The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme provides highly motivated students with the opportunity to pursue a rigorous high school course of study. While in the Pre IB (grades 9 & 10) and IB (grades 11 & 12) programs, students will be enrolled in four levels of English, Social Studies, Mathematics, Science, and five levels of Foreign Language. A sixth subject area in art, music, or theatre will be available for students.
Students who earn the IB diploma qualify for the Florida Academic Scholars Award (FAS) of the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program, which provides 100% of tuition at Florida public institutions regardless of GPA and SAT/ACT scores.
Students enrolled in the Pre IB and IB Programs are encouraged to participate in athletics, clubs, and other extracurricular activities.
An IB guidance counselor provides assistance to the Freshmen with the transition to a large high school setting. Guidance services are continued in the upper levels to assist with career choices, college admittance, community service and study skills.) For more info. Go to International Baccalaureate (IB)
If I Get scores of 4 or even better 5-7 on my IB exams I can use those credits for college. I wont have to take those classes. I got into USF, UF, and Stetson University (private). I want to do pre med as my major (I know there is no certain major as pre med I will either do biology or biochemistry but the pre med program) I know that UF is ranked highest from the three but that does not necessarily means that the Pre med program is better. It would be really helpful if you guys can tell me which one would be better for me USF or UF. USF is closer to my house but not very well known where as UF is a very prestigious school. But I want to know is there a difference in their premedical program. Am I going to have a higher chance of getting into a good medical school if I go to UF? What are the reasons to go to UF? And reasons to go to USF? As a pre med major? Since UF is much bigger in size than USF does that mean I wont be able to have any connection with my professors? How are the professors at UF? And at USF? Also another factor is that UF is only a college town there is not much to do there and USF is a big city so which is better? But mostly I am looking for a school that would help me get into a good medical school and help me connect to professors and provide the best help for their students. Please let me know. It would be very helpful. Any other comments you have about either of the two schools please let me know.
