I am a member of the first IB class at my school (we were the guinea pigs for this program), and am currently looking at the higher UC’s (LA, Berkeley, SB, SD) and a couple privates (USC, Boston). Due to the rigor of all the IB classes combined with the new curriculum that our teachers weren’t used to teaching, my grades dropped during my junior year. What used to be straight A’s turned into mostly B’s and some A’s and a couple C’s. I now have a 3.68 unweighted and a 4.12 weighted. I’ve stuck with my EC’s for four years but don’t have any leadership position (just not that kind of person). Still working on my personal statements, but my writing is decent enough to the point where if it won’t help me, it won’t hurt me either. Any help is greatly appreciated!
