IB VS AP??? PLEASE HELP ME!?
Okay, so my school year just started last week and I'm having second thoughts about doing the full IB program. So far I've taken 2 ap classes (I'm a junior) and my classes currently are:
AP Environmental Science
IB HL History of Americas (although its viewed as APUSH on my schedule)
IB HL English
IB SL Theatre
Trig/Stats
IB SL Spanish

I really like my classes this year, however I wanted to just keep my history as AP US History (and not the IB HL) and just keep my three IB classes the same. This way, would forfeit the diploma and just get certificate. My reasoning behind this is that I could have 3 IB classes and 2 Ap classes on my schedule junior year and then senior year my classes would be
HL english
SL spanish
AP bio
AP psychology
Some non weighted math class or maybe AP Stats
Fashion Class.
That would make my total APs taken at 6 or 7 (depending on doing the weighted math class) and my total IBs at 3. Would that look good on a college application? (Assuming I get good grades of course) Or did I just totally wreck my chances of getting into a good college? I'm finding the IB program to be way too much work for me to handle next year and I've always felt more comfortable in AP classes anyway. Will doing this ruin my chances at getting into a nice college? I just want to go to maybe UCSD or UCSB or SFSU or maybe even Pepperdine? I'm also really involved in school clubs and the community and have some pretty solid ECs. I just want to know if I should stick it out in the IB program if it will make a substantial difference in my applications, and if not I really want to do a mixed AP/IB schedule. Am I doing the right thing?
