I probably won't be very excited after I actually start :P

^Just learn how to manage yoru time. IB is essentially time management. There will be nights where you'll have to stay up all night working, but if you prioritize etc I can assuer you that you'll never go a night without sleeping. I actually found the first year of IB to be fun...yeah I said it : fun...haha I was acutally scared in the beginning of the courseload, my HLs etc, but I ended up with a higher avg than I had before IB , probably becuase I actually enjoy my courses.

lol yep thats the one great thing about IB....u get to pick your classes =D

The IB is fairly new to our school, which is a small school to boot. Therefore, my class choices were pretty limited. Oh well.

canucker: what courses did you choose?

KemoCGHS: A friend of mine did his EE in chem., something about combustion and god knows what else ( I'm chem-dumb so I can't really say what she was doing). I'll ask her for some suggestions ( she's a chem genius) and I'll send them to you .

Math Studies SL
Bio HL
Chem SL
English HL
French SL
Euro History HL
ToK (obviously)

note the only options I had was which science I wanted, and whether I wanted a 2nd science or an IB arts elective (Drama, Music, or Visual Arts). I picked the second science because I'm not terribly artistic, musical, or dramatic. I also got to choose my math.

eng A1 SL
math methods SL
spanish ab initio SL
geo HL
bio HL
chem HL (to OP: AP chem is as hardcore is IB chem HL)

actually EE isn't THAT bad. most kids in my school don't start them till 2 days before it was due. lol have u heard of this: "I.B. therefore I B.S." :D

megaman123: it would be awesome if you could get do that for me id appreciate it very much (and dont worry i know how you must feel....most of my friends are chem-dumb too...think im crazy for takin HL in chem hehe)

Hopkins2010: hehe ya that I.B. therefore I B.S. thing was the motto for IBHS at my school lol

I'm starting Ib next month-

IB history
IB english
IB Math Studies
IB Bio
IB Theatre
TOK

then IB French my senior year.

I found AP's to be easy. I neither took the class or studied and passed the AP Euro test.

On a side note i'm hoping to do my project on either game theory or global economics.

For a normal school, you still have free will; you can pick what courses you want.

white_rabbit- I'm guessin gyour project means your EE. The thing with the EE is that it has to be a specific research question, so you might want to think a bout a specific question in those areas. I was gonna do the possible impact of CAFTA on banana production in Costa Rica (my country)...but I later switched to a topic in spanish, because it was a) easier B) had already read the two books I need for the paper c) decided that the time I was gonna save by doing it an easier EE would be better spent on my ED application etc

i'm in IB too! but i can't think of an interesting EE topic that has to do with english/history!! any ideas???

if my school doesn't offer IB, is there somewhere online i could take it?

Lizzie -- English AND history or English OR history...? Both are very broad umbrella topics...

drsarah- I've never heard on online IB. I doubt IBO would approve it.
