IC and IIC = 1 or 2 subject tests?

I know this is a stupid question, but can I apply to Brown with Writing, IC and IIC? or I must take Writing, Math and a not-Math subject? Thanks for any feedback!

I don't think that's allowed, and even if it is, it probably wouldn't look good that you don't have enough certainty about your mastery of another subject that you turned in two SAT II's on the same subject. Similiarly, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't appreciate it if someone applied with both versions of the French test. The point of having three SAT II's is to see your level in a variety of subjects...

EDIT: altho now that I see your similiar thread on the Harvard board, I retract my statement. Perhaps they do accept it. I still don't think sending both I and IIC would really help you, but that's just me.

I know it won't look good on my app. And that's why I'm freaking out. I can't believe I miss the Jan SAT test. What else can I do. I guess I just have to focus on my essays now :(

can't you take the test at another testing location, like at another nearby city? don't feel bad about it, b/c I don't think it's going to hurt you...but a good additional SAT II would have been just another tiny boost. Anyways, I'm of the opinion that SAT scores are not the end of the world. So yea, work on your essays.

now I can't take the test at another city even if I want to 'coz the deadline for int'l (Dec20) passed already. Thanks, asterstar, I sure am working hard on my essays.

If it helps, of my three highest SATIIs, 2 were history, and the next ones down were just plain rotten, and I got in anyway.

brown doesn't require any certain SAT IIs. if you are a math person I don't see how having 2 math test could hurt you at all...you should be perfectly fine, don't stress!

good luck :)

p.s.- my SAT II scores B-L-E-W, and I still got in

thanks rab and starry. You both got in Brown ED?

yes :)

good luck, and if you have any more questions/worries just post

hey there, since you got in ED, I wanted to ask a non-SAT question. Was your Why Brown essay long? I just don't know how long should I write, and should I just state the reasons why I'm interested in Brown or should I write it... ya know... in a more essay-like format?

I submitted all of my longer essays (1, 2, 4, & 6) typed on a separate piece of paper that I then attached to Form 3.

When I was typing everything up I tried to judge my length by how much space they provide on the actual Form 3. So, for example, my essay 4 was one page long, my essay 1 was about 1 paragraph-1/2 a page long. For "Why Brown?" I typed about a paragraph. It was a little longer then what I would be given on the form, but still not too long. You don't have to elaborate too much, just explain..."Why Brown?" lol

PM if you need more help

I think Brown mostly cares about the Writing SAT II. Does anyone know if the writing sample is required, and how do you request the writing sample? It's been almost 6 months since I took the test.

I don't think they want the writing sample.

No. at least I didn't send it.

Hmm, I must have been hallucinating. I thought I read it somewhere, but I don't know where or when.

I bet college board already threw mine out lol.
