I just heard this one the radio, but I can't find the song name.

All I remember are that the lyrics have the phrase "machine gun" in them and that the song had a female singer and used a lot of synthesizer effects.

All I remember is “machine gun” and the other things … because the phrase was JUST SO WEIRD. I don’t often listen to pop music so I don’t know who was singing, except that it had to have been a female.

Well what did the singer’s voice sound like? Light and playful? Rough and somber? And was that phrase used repeatedly throughout the song, much as a chorus is?

Somewhere in-between … not exactly light and playful, but not overly rough and somber. After all, she was screaming “MACHINE GUN” over and over.

Yes - the machine gun song was the only one I wanted to find later, out of several, including one about calling someone “maybe,” one about whistling, one about being glad to meet someone … ugh.

To IceQube: do you happen to have a smartphone? If you do, then there’s an app that will ID any song you want to find out the name of. It’s called Shazam.

Yeah, Soundhound will let you hum the song in too. I kinda like Shazam better, though. Probably because I’ve been using it longer than soundhound.
And the song Titanium is amazing. Especially on Airplanes.
