ID students - disney college?

have any of your students applied to the disney college to get their feet in the door for the following co-ops?

my daughter has applied to all the disney co-ops but has yet to hear anything.

her co-op advisor mentioned to her that she should apply to the disney college to help get her foot in the door for future co-ops in case she doesn’t get one this time around.

but i am hesitant as a parent to tell her to appy. after looking at it…i don’t see any college courses that have anything to do with industrial design. she would live in their housing, take college courses and then work part time in the park. she has made it thru the application, an online questionaire and next she has a phone interview.

i told her to be brutally honest that her dream job is to work for disney in the industrial design field when she gets out of college, that she applied for their co-ops and was advised by her advisor to apply for the college program…i told her to ask if they have any courses that she could take pertaining to industrial design.

have any of you or your students applied to the disney college program?

well her co-op advisor called the disney college program and asked about the courses taught and none of them have anything to do with industrial design and told her to go ahead and do the phone interview anyway to get the interview practice.

I don’t really have anything pertinent to add, but way back when I knew two students who co-oped with Disney. One was an architecture/planning student, the other was an electrical engineering student. I recall that both loved their jobs, and both ended up with Disney after graduation.

sounds like they were in the co-op/internship program. she applied for all 4 disney co-op/internships as well as the college program. she is not going to do the college program but is going to take the phone interview for it to gain the practice in interviewing.
