Talked to my parents & probably won’t be able to afford any $30-40k out of state tuition type schools unless I get a scholarship. :S We won’t get any financial aid, either, even though I have a lot of siblings.

Rules out a lot of options. Was looking at UVA but there’s no way we could afford the $38k out of state lol

Michigan is still a chance but it’s way too liberal for me, I don’t like the campus, and it’s too close to home. I’d probably choose Michigan State over it.

UVA actually provides financial aid for out-of-state students (the only other public university to do that is UNC-CH).
Run the Net Price Calculators on a few websites: top 10 LAC, top 10 national university, top 50 LAC, top 50 university… Focus on private schools since at that level they’re the only ones likely to offer merit aid, plus their financial aid packages can be generous even if your family’s upper-middle class. Note that number of dependents and number of children in college are factored in so you may in fact be qualified for financial aid.
I once read rankings that placed Hendrix tops for merit aid.
In Michigan, you have Keterring for science, Alma and Albion for liberal arts, Hope for premed. You’d probably get merit aid at these schools.
