Ideas for Esssays....

Hey everyone. Im looking to get a head start on my essays before school starts and I want to do U of M first so I'd like to hear some opinions. Here Is the question I want some help with.

"Essay #1 (Required for all applicants. Approximately 250 words.)

Everyone belongs to many different communities and/or groups defined by (among other things) shared geography, religion, ethnicity, income, cuisine, interest, race, ideology, or intellectual heritage. Choose one of the communities to which you belong, and describe that community and your place within it."

So Here are my 3 ideas so far...

I have been To almost every michigan football game since I was 5 or 6 with a large group of family and friends (including a former regent of the university). I was thinking I could write about all the times I have had growing up around all these people (many are alumni as well). We usually tailgate for around 12 hours every game day and I have learned alot and grown up a lot around these people and the university.

I went On a Mission trip this summer to Charlotte, NC. with a group of around 30 and met a lot of different people. As well as interacted with tons of diverse groups of people in the city through our mission work (I know UM loves diversity in stuff like this)

I have spent a very large part of my life with the same group of friends and we have always spent most time together in the same place (my friends basement), its another kind of coming of age thing through friendship. I figured this would be a little more creative and might at least be something to think about

So I would love to hear any feedback on the ideas I have as well as any ideas other people are working on for their essays. Thanks In advance!!

Number 2. You can talk about your religious side, your friends, the diversity you encountered (be sure to mention races)

Thanks. Thats what ive been hearing from my friends who are attending u of m currently. Any other thoughts??
