University of Alabama!

Will be tougher for scholarship $$ but you could try University of Florida. Look at Florida State too - more likely to get $$ there.

For UF, do you think I have a good chance (not looking for scholarship $$) @SouthFloridaMom9

Hoping that @Gator88NE chimes in . . . knows much more than me, but my gut instinct is that yes, you would have a good chance. eta: Now that I think about it a little more, your GPA would be a little concerning imho, but UF might re-weight your GPA depending on how your classes are classified.

UF utilizes holistic admissions, and looks at course rigor. Essay is also very important according to many sources I’ve seen. ECs and test scores matter too, of course.

I’ve also read that President Fuchs would like to see OOS enrollment go up a little, though UF is mainly in-state students.

As an aside, did you look at UK (Kentucky)? They sent my son lots of stuff last year but we never really looked into it (for reasons not related to the school). It seemed like they were doing good scholarships for stats.

Of course we would love for you to get good news from UF!

@SouthFloridaMom9 @SouthFloridaMom9 UF is and has always been my #1 choice, I’m currently enrolled as a dual enrollment student through them, taking a class each semester, which I’m sure helps as they see I’m an OOS student doing the most I can with the University.

^^that’s great OP.

My homeschooler did some UF dual enrollment online, and I will always wonder if that helped him with admissions last cycle. Supposedly it doesn’t (?) but at the very least it demonstrates that you can handle UF rigor especially if you take one of the tougher classes.

JPGator98 and I have talked earlier about UF. Other schools that are worth a look, would include the University of South Carolina, they have the #1 ranked international business program and what is one of the best honor programs. UK, and UT-Knoxville are also good choices. Also look into Clemson, NC-State and Virginia Tech (maybe UVa and UNC). In Alabama, Auburn is also a possibility.

Good Luck!
