i'm writing this article, and need help brainstorming...

i want to write about new, unique hobbies that teenagers do nowadays. i came up with computer graphics design (just some basic stuff with photoshop), internet advisors, and that's about it.

instead of stuff like collecting stamps or horseriding, what do you guys do for a hobby? (more exotic the better)

it'll be better if they are good hobbies educationally or careerwise. not reading, of course. some other stuff. :D thanks!!!

I model cringespart time. Not aiming for anything career-wise, but it is considered a part-time job, and what I also learned, was how to deal and communicate calmly with male-shovenist-pigs or any other jerk (male or female) who says unproductive things just to bring you down.

I also bake cookies/cakes stuff like that and sell them. :)

wow...that's awesome. can you tell me a bit more? and do you mind if i put that on the article? i won't mention your name or something like that ( not that i know it, ), but i still need your permission.

i'm really interested about the model thing. can you describe how you got the job, etc? don't feel pressured, of course. thanks in advance!

If you want to, you can, i don't know how relevent it is to your prompt though. :) My friends thought it was funny at first because I was at first the most unlikely person to model (i went through the most akward akward-stage anyone could ever imagine).

A little while ago my grandma pressured me into trying it because she had when she was my age, and so had my great-grand mother and my great-grand-aunt. It turned out well so I continued, because in Nevada you couldn't get a "real" job until you're 16. And I keep doing it today because it makes fairly good money, and it can be fun! I think it builds a bit of character as long as it doesnt get to your head!

this is how i'm planning to write the article:
it'll be more like a column for three issues.
one: computer/internet related hobbies
two: making things (ex: cooking, knitting, etc) i know they are not that 'exotic', but it's all good! :)
three: careerwise hobbies (i think the model one fits right here)

of course, i am going to broaden each topics if i can scrap some more info.

please, if you think your hobby is pretty exotic, post on about it. it'll be wonderful if you can include:
1. what you learn from your hobby
2. how you started your hobby
3. how often you do it, what do you get from it?

if you feel certain questions are intrusive, don't feel pressured to answer them. more the better! thanks!

horseback riding is exotic. sheesh. and it's definitely not just a hobby, but a sport which people never realise because the only time they've been on a horse was at the carnival with someone leading them on a little pony. hmph. try training a three year old thoroughbred.

Aside from that, I knit. and I make/burn mix CDs...I consider that a hobby, sadly.

Eatings one of my big hobbies (not to say that Im fat). Chinese foods are my favorite, but I really like exotic foods too, as long as they arent too gross.
