Hello fellow CCers,

I need your help. So, I am a sophomore in high school and I feel like I do not have enough ECs and I was wondering if you guys could give your input. I'm kind of an artistic person who likes cooking & baking. I love reading and writing. I also want to be a surgeon when I am older. Here is what I am doing so far:

Latin Club (running for co-president)
Science Club
MUN (special agency delegate for HMUN)
Key Club
Basketball (varsity since freshman year)
Volunteer at local homeless shelter

I recently quit band because I really hated it and need to find another thing that I'm passionate about, preferably out of school. I was considering filming. Also, if I wanted to form an out-of-school cooking club (our school has no kitchen with stoves, ovens, etc.), how would you guys suggest I go about that? Lastly, how would I be able to, for example, shadow a doctor at a hospital?

Thank you all for your input!

Here are some ideas:

-Enter some writing competitions ([Imagine Links to Academic Competitions](http://cty.jhu.edu/imagine/linkb.htm))
-See if your school has some sort of journalism or newspaper club that you can join
-Write articles for your local newspaper
-Participate in NaNoWriMo
-Take some cooking classes outside of school
-Get a job at a bakery
-Write reviews and submit recipes on cooking websites
-Help some younger kids with science fairs
-Tutor
-Try to get an internship

You should volunteer at a local library, tutoring there perhaps (would look good), internship at local hospitals.

My father works at Ohio State, the hospital, and the age for volunteering/internship is 16.

If you wanted to do cooking you could go to a community center. They usually have programs and if you go and make friends you may be able to rent it out for a night. But if you want to do anything, forming a group wise, you need to make sure you have a good amount of people interested in the idea.
