Identifying as an URM?

Alright, so here is my dilemma...

I am North African, and the Common Application asks for what I identify as - and one of the options is "Black or African American." I know that the US Census describes North African as Caucasian, however, they are referring to Arabs living in North Africa. I am Berber (indigenous African tribe living in North Africa) - my Father was born in Morocco, and I lived in Morocco when I was younger. Would it be justified for me to identify as "African American" on the common application?

If you're looking for genetic background on Bebers - they're considered "intermediate" between Sub-Saharan blacks and White Europeans. Though they have a lot in common with "Caucasian" DNA, they have a unique black ancestral component in their lineage/DNA make up.
