My friend and I, who goes to the same high school, both received an e-mail from the CSS/PROFILE website saying that we needed to send tax return information and that Georgetown had specifically requested it. We were wondering if this has happened to anyone in the last couple of days or last year.

Neither of us want to get our hopes up, but logically it would seem that Georgetown would already have the majority of their acceptance list complete. We're wondering why we'd get these e-mails if we weren't at least being considered.

So, if anyone can help, I'd greatly appreciate it.

the admissions office and financial aid office are completely separate, so being accepted and being requested to submit tax return info are irrelevant. sorry : /

Yes I got a similar email from IDOC, and I can't log into their site--I don't know if it's because I'm on a Mac or because their site isn't functioning properly. But it's kind of important because the amount of aid I get from my schools (if I'm accepted) will be a deciding factor.

I have to disagree with snowgirl. I got the same type of request from Penn and I don't think they would go through all 20,000 applications and make a financial aid package for them if they are not being accepted or at least considered for admissions. I would look at it as a good thing and send in your forms ASAP.

really? i figured that the IDOC forms were just mandatory. the site on collegeboard said something alogn the lines of "the following list of colleges requires your tax incomes, your w2s, blah blah blah" thats odd though kevin_tennis72. i too applied to UPenn and it was on the list but georgetown along with others was. thats really really odd....hmm

kevin_tennis72 did you have to send an IDOC for georgetown?

no, no , no, they have a list of schools that require the idoc. i was told by them that if one of the schools you applied for is listed, then you will receive notice to send in forms.
