How the heck am I supposed to get signatures from my daughter and mail everything in ONE package if she’s in New York and I am in California???

And what rocket scientist decided to create an additional way that my ex husband can screw things up? It’s bad enough trying to get him to do the Profile every year, now there’s something else he has to mail with some other specialized form going to some different place???

Well, I talked to my daughter, who happens to be in Boston. We agreed that I will do my part, mail the whole packet to her along with the forms she needs to sign, & she will mail it in. It's stupid, because it would be much easier for her to simply walk her stuff over to the financial aid office, but she was very cool & collected about the whole thing... so I'm settling down.

The whole financial aid thing is always stressful for me every year, because I never know how much I am going to have to pay plus I have to deal with the ex on something that involves finances, which always provokes a negative response.

Just be aware that the IDOC papers say that have to be "received by" April 18 -- and it all has to come in one package -- so makes sure you leave yourself some lead time to make it all happen.

On top of everything else, we never got the email that had the IDOC registration number, but it turns out that you can log in to the system without it - just need SS # and DOB for your daughter. One more complication that makes no sense.....

Oh brag brag churchmusicmom! I have three more years for #2! (Just kidding!)

Where are you women living next year. Yay! Room selection over, almost as idious as IDOC.

D is in Sutz Tower, which she is ecstatic about. Single, air conditioning, no meal plan. As she put it, "No girl drama." Oh, and river view, of course.

LOL! I think the site was a little nuts earlier and I know of at least one other post that got quadrupled as a result!

My d and her beloved suitemates wanted to get into 620 (they have lived in Plimpton for two years and like it a lot, but wanted a change). Alas, their number was sort of sucky, so they got one of the rennovated suites in Plimpton, on a higher floor. They are pretty pleased, I think!

I am not looking forward to the FinAid process, but I AM going to go to NYC tomorrow for a few days! D is dancing in Orchesis and my daughter-in-law and I are going up to spend some time with her and her friends.

I don't think my daughter is looking forward to giving up her single in 616 -- somewhere along the line when I asked her about Barnard housing, she said her current room is "as good as it gets." I don't think she does her room selection until April 1st.
