If a Finan. Aid officer calls you to ask you some questions....

about your CSS Profile in order to "make a more sound aid decision" does that mean....you're in? Because why bother assessing the financial situations of non-admits?

How does this work? I don't have my hopes up I'm just genuinely curious.

Colleges are required to verify the income/ assets of students as per the federal gov't.

Some schools contact random students verify information which may be your case.

Other schools ask the information of all students just as a protocol so they can state that there is no bias in their process and no one group of people are being verified at the expense of others.

Sorry, you are just going to have to wait the process out. Good Luck

The universal decision date is April 1. The universal reply date is May 1 by which time everyone has to inform the colleges where they are going to actually attend. All of the finan aid packages have to be completed for everybody by a few days after April 1 so that the future freshmen can make their decisions about where to go. The FA office doesn't know who the admissions office is going to admit.
