Financial Aid Confusion.

If you intend to apply for financial aid, please do so by January 2nd. Remember that we do not consider your financial circumstances when we review your admissions application. Cornell provides financial aid based on need which may reduce or eliminate your student loans, and reduce or eliminate your parental contribution.

i got that as email

by financial aid does cornell mean FAFSA or CSS?

It means CSS + 2007 tax returns + Cornell finaid app. Fafsa can be submitted later.

oh ****!!! i have to send other documents regarding my legal status!!!!!!!!

but how come that common application and collegeboard say that the deadline is on February 11? What does that mean then? Are they making fun of us or what. It has to be either one way or the other way.

if CSS is submitted through collegeboard and collegeboard says the deadline is February 11, then what do they want from us? It means it is February 11. If collegeboard is not reliable, then I guess their CSS is not reliable either.

The deadline to be is a suggestion time frame so a majority of people actually send it in time so there is enough time to look over all the applications.
But if a College give you a deadline, it's more legit than Collegeboard. Who is Collegeboard ot CommAPP to say when a college can set a deadline to things. Like c'mon, who knows the deadline better?

Well I am sorry but if they can trust collegeapplication enough to receive their application, and if they trust collegeboard enough to require their CSS Profile and SAT scores, than they should either TRUST them, or PROVIDE them with UPDATES. What they are doing is very irresponsible.
