If a professor is TBA, am I at risk of having the class "terminated"

I’m asking for a general consensus as my school offices are closed at the moment.

When registration opened, all the Physics classes were taken up, so I just went on with Chemistry. However, recently, a few new classes have opened up with a “TBA” for the professor. I instantly dropped chem in favor of Physics, but now that I am signed up, I am worried about losing Chem. When I check my portal, it doesn’t have me listed as registered in Physics, but other documents say that I am. For example, it says I’m registered for the class, but I have only applied to 24 credits in total (with the Physics class it should be 28).

I guess my question is, do colleges typically pull these classes before the start of the next semester? Or rather, is it common for colleges to open up new classes to register under?

TBA just means that they haven’t figured out who will be teaching it. Whether or not it gets cancelled probably has more to do with the enrollment numbers than which professor is assigned to it.

It just means they recognized the fact that there were more people who need to take it than there were seats available, so they created new sections. I wouldn’t worry about it. It takes time to line up a professor to teach a class after course assignments have already been made like this.

Thank you @LoveTheBard and @boneh3ad
As you could probably tell, I’m really new to this college thing. I’m enjoying engineering so far, though.
