<p>What positions in the military are you looking for? Officer in the army don't generally have a specifically assigned Military Occupational Specialty that is going to last for the term of your service. An officer is an officer is an officer.</p>
<p>I'd join the Air Force, then become an aircraft mechanic (I don't think you need a formal degree, just training. I'm not too sure though.).</p>

<p>Hmm I was thinking of going the Ranger route or 18x (Special Forces). If not, I was interested in applying for FBI's HRT (Hostage Rescue Team). As of now I am probably enlisting in the National Guard and see if I can hack it for the 19th or 20th SF. You don't <em>need</em> a college degree for SF except for Delta or HRT, but its a good thing to have since you are going to be among some of the most intelligent people out there.</p>
<p>Oh, not sure I want to be officer, either, although it'd be kinda counter intuitive if I didn't go for OCS with an undergraduate BS.</p>
<p>Cosmetology or massage therapy school. Short training, upper-working class wages. Better than McDs.</p>
<p>Get an apprenticeship in boat building (I live kind of by Annapolis (1hr away), can't be too hard), eventually set up my own wooden boat shop, learn to design boats myself, take commissions for designing and building small wooden boats, write novels in my spare time, save money like crazy (live in a crappy apartment or condo, spend money only on food and water and books and rent, I can live without heating) so that I can build a sailboat for myself and go cruising occasionally, maybe even around the world.</p>
