I'd really, really like to go to Northwestern, and I've applied with the college match (I haven't matched anything yet, I don't know if I want to add other colleges or not), but in the case I don't get selected as a finalist for any college, can I still apply for early decision outside of QuestBridge? And if that falls through can I still apply regular decision with QuestBridge? Thanks!

Yes, if you are not selected as a finalist you can apply to any college early. However, if you are selected as a finalist you can’t apply to any other schools outside of the questbridge college match early.

Not sure if you’re still looking for an answer but here’s some info directly from the website:

“Students who apply to the College Match but do not rank colleges, or who are not selected as finalists, are not subject to any agreements with QuestBridge and are free to apply to any colleges for Early or Regular Decision.”
Note that this is AFTER you find out you are not a match, it violates the policy to apply EA to any other schools even if you’re selected as a finalist but unsure of a match.

The guidelines are very strict and this may be confusing so I advise looking over the full information given, which you can find by doing to the following:
- Go to the questbridge website
- Hover over the “for students” tab
- Click on the “early action policy”

And to your second question, you are still able to apply RD. Hope this answers all your questions!
