since EA is nonbinding?
Unless the ED school agreement says otherwise, then you can apply EA other places (unless their EA is restrictive – only 2-3 schools have that). Some ED schools only let you apply EA to public universities. You have to read the EA or ED agreement for the particular schools.
However, no matter what happens with the EA schools, if the ED school accepts you, you must attend there & withdraw the EA applications or turn those schools down if they’ve already accepted you.
Oftentimes you can BUT you first need to check the specific ED/EA restrictions of each school you apply to. These can be found on the college’s websites.
Almost always, yes. Just read the language on each school’s individual ED or EA application carefully to be sure of that school’s expectations. A very few ED schools restrict you from applying EA elsewhere, and there are some restricted or single-choice EA schools as well. You should be sure not to run afoul of any college’s policy. Luckily, the policies are explained clearly on the agreement forms you need to sign.
ED trumps EA, if you get into one of each. Always.
