if I donated $1m or $2m dollars is it enough for Harvard admission

Consider I am an average international student.

If I donated $1m or $2m (m=million) dollars would that be enough for Harvard admission? I know it could be hard to get in, because I am an average student.

no way. Harvard has so many millions of donors and only offers places to students that will enhance a bottom line that is beyond finances…so famous is way better than rich, and the fame must be YOURS…an Olympian, published writer, patented researcher…etc. SO average guy, just forgettaboutit. You’d get killed by the academic competition if you DID get in. Go where you can get great grades and try for Harvard Grad school. If you still need it so bad.

give me the million

seriously? …hahahahaha…

if you have that money might as well not even bother going to college

“so famous is way better than rich”

True. If you are children of a powerful family in your country, let them know. Harvard would take you, and give you a degree even you are average. One million is not enough, 100 millions would work. :)

that is a rounding error for Harvard … Harvard is all about EXCELLENCE not bribery

that is a rounding error for Harvard … Harvard is all about EXCELLENCE not bribery

Actually, yes. But I’ve heard the number is 5-10 million (depending on the strength of the applicant). Without seriously lowering its stats, Harvard could make a serious amount of money this way.

I really wonder what the drop off is for other private schools. What does it cost to get into Penn? Johns Hopkins? Georgetown? Tufts? GW?

Considering the list price of a bachelors degree is over $200,000 for everyone else, $1M is not enough IMHO. Maybe if you slipped it to the head admissions? ;-)

agreeeeeeeeed

Really? That’s embarrassing. Imagine all the other good that could be done with that money . Harvard is one of the richest entities in the world. They’d be more impressed if you did some good with that cash.
