If I get a Cal Grant A for a school, does that mean I got accepted?

While checking my grant statuses, I stumbled over a part that sparked my tingles.
It said I got a Cal Grant A for UC-Santa Barbara (my dream school) and I became amazed!! But, does this mean I got into UCSB? Whaaaaaat?! Help please!

Somebody correct me if I’m wrong but I believe that when they post your Cal Grant status they just select the first school that you selected on your FAFSA. Was UCSB the first school on the FAFSA? When my son saw his it was for Cal Poly. Cal Grant was posted before his acceptance to SLO but it was the first school on the FAFSA list.

pretty sure cal grant notification has no bearing on your admissions status. think they just pick the first public and private california schools listed on your fafsa to show what you would get at those schools if you attended.

Yeah, I think it’s just they mention the first one on your list. The same thing happened to me, but then when I dug deeper, I saw that there was an amount for each of the schools I had applied to. That was weeks ago, and still no word from the schools.
