According to the people here, many I-banks require (or recommend) applicants to put down their SAT score (espeically for internships and analyst position fresh out from college). My SAT score is very low (1270 out of 1600 - 700M, 570V), and I'm entering my junior year next year so it'll be too late to retake it. Plus I'm from the westcoast.

you can make up for it with GPA and leadership positions, but I-banking is one of the hardest careers to get into, even with a high SAT score you'd need to go to a top business school or IVY and have a high GPA.

How is it too late to retake your SAT test if you're just a sophomore? I know some juniors who still didn't take their SAT now, if you think you did that poorly, just retake them.

Don't worry about it...it's a pretty decent score. It's not like the bank's gonna reject you solely based on the score....if you have a good GPA with hard courses and some leadership, you still have a chance.

Neither will the banks HIRE you solely based on a good SAT score.

Yes, don't bother with I-banking not because your low SAT score, but because I-banking is not good enough for you seriously. Even if getting rich is what you want, there are tons of other routes that gets you rich much faster & easier than being an I-banker.

I-banking profession is hyped up too much to a celebrity status. If the trend continues I won't be surprised to see people outside Goldman Sachs building in NY asking for autographs.
