<p>i know most colleges prefer 4 years of a lanaguage.</p>
<p>but i will only take three years of german in high school. i dont want to take it senior year cuz it will be a pain. i took 1 year of german in middle school, tho. does that add up to 4?</p>

<p>meh. i took two years of spanish. dude dont try to act like what the colleges "want". unless your a sheep. do what YOU want, and the colleges should be able to notice this in you application. If you dont want to do german, don't. Stay true to yourself.</p>

<p>I'm going to assume it might hurt you at the schools that 'suggest' you take 4 years. The year of German you took in middle school won't count.</p>
