I really want to protect the forest and wild animals that are endangered. I want to work towards preserving as much forest as possible and animals as well. I want a career that works with protecting any and all types of animals whether they be on land or in the sea. What should I major in?

Wildlife biology and management!

ACThater, what if my schools doesn’t offer that?? I was thinking environmental science. I want be a conservationist, but all I see at my school are:

Environment, economy, development, and sustainability
Environmental policy and decision making
Environmental Science
Forestry, Fisheries, and Wildlife
Natural Resources Management

Which one of these would be best? From the descriptions I am reading on their website, it sounds like FOrestry, Fisheries, and Wildlife would be the best fit for me.

Forestry, fisheries, and wildlife looks good to me. Have you thought about a conservation officer? It’s pretty much a conservationist/ police officer so you’d always be working outside, patrolling hunting ground, managing plants and evasive species and so forth. Look into it! That is my second choice behind civil engineering so if that doesn’t work out I’ll be a conservational officer!

Whatever you major in, just make CERTAIN you get a lot of internship/job experience working for the park service/state/fed gov agencies. That’s the real key to obtaining a position after graduation.

Great. Thank you both! Yes, I will get internships at my public zoo or wherever I can find. I will keep in touch with counselors and professors as to where I can find internship positions throughout my studies. :)
