I know what I want to do. What major do I choose?

My ideal career is in the field of wildlife conservation. The main focus of my job should be saving species and doing research, and I would preferably live and work in a foreign country so my job should also have an aspect of international diplomacy as I work with local governments to save local species. I could see myself working for the World Wildlife Fund or a similar organization.

So should I double-major in Biology and Environmental Science, or in Biology and International relations, or would I need a major specifically called "Conservation Biology" or something along those lines?

Is this a field in which it would be worth it to get a graduate degree?

Thanks for any input and advice.

Larger organizations hire different people for the science and the public policy/diplomacy work. You are not going to be doing both. (Though it won’t hurt to get trained in both if that’s what you are interested in.)

What about something like Parks and Recreation Management? Some schools have programs like that. I don’t know a lot about this field but maybe that’s something you’d be interested in.
