What kind of scores would I need on my subject tests to have a decent shot? I'm taking the Spanish, Lit, and US History exams in June.

I think the general consensus for ivies is 750+

You might want to consider not taking spanish unless you’re a native speaker. Alot of native speakers take Spanish, and they mess up the curve.

Also, possibly take a math or science?

Wow, that high? and i’m a native speaker so I think I’ll be good.
The only one I’m really worried about is US History - I can’t seem to get over a 700. Any suggestions?

For the US History remember they’re going to ask a lot more basic concepts than specific people like Secretaries of State etc. What US History class did you take in school? I took AP and felt pretty well prepared from it besides pre-Jamestown and present day stuff.

I studied the same way I did for my APUSH test with a PR book (didn’t use much) and a set of 500 Flashcards made by Barrons. The flashcards helped me tremendously since I could just glance at them whenever I had a chance and they covered the concepts as in depth as needed. I ended up getting a 720.

I took an AP class this year and felt pretty confident after the test, but I hear the Subject test is harder.

Whenever I take the practice exams, I get 670s, 660s, and the like - it’s a bit frustrating.

a 700+ is considered competitive for brown and every other Ivy. Try to aim for 750+ though.

To the OP: Don’t be discouraged by the practice tests from the collegeboard book. I received a 690 on both practice tests for world history and ended up with an 800 on the real thing. That said, 750+ is prob “average” for most of the Ivies, though for physics and Math II the average is prob. closer to 800.

750+, I’d say.

It depends on the test. A 700 on Literature is more impressive than a 700 on Math Level 2.

i don’t know about your specific school, but i wouldn’t take us.history without apush. i took sat2 ushistory with just honors ushistory and didn’t break 700 even with two months of reviewing with the kaplan and PR books

how does a 740 on Bio look?

davematthews, a 740 on Bio would be ok for Ivy’s, especially if you have other scores that are higher than that.
