By next year it will be likely that the majority of ross students will be admitted pre-admit. I heard they are trying to move towards 5/6 of applicants being admitted before their first year.
If thats the case then you dont have to worry about alternate majors at Michigan because if you dont get in then you definitely should not attend.
Let’s keep in mind that a business degree is not a mandatory requisite by any means for a successful career in business (many elite schools do not even offer undergrad business degrees, and yet do very well with placements).
Recruiters at those elite schools will be looking at students of all majors.
This is a very different scenario since UMich has business degree. Recruiters will mostly be interested in the b-school kids. But smaller and less recognized companies might look at other majors. The best Communications majors will do as well as the average Ross Marketing student.
