if i'm interested in fashion design or industrial design
what is the best colledge that i could go in?
is parsons or RISD a good colledge that i could go in?

Your problem is that you can't major in both! You usually have to pick a major and that is what you get accepted to. If you are looking for schools that have good fashion design programs and Industrial Design programs, certainly RISD would work for you. However, you should seriously consider University of Cincinnati, School of Design, Art, Architecture and Planning. Not only do that have very strong programs in both fashion design and industrial design ( in fact , it is rated higher than RISD for industrial design),but it has guaranteed paid coops for each major that guarantees you 1.5 years of paid experience when you get out! It is also MUCH less expensive than RISD.

Frankly, knowing what I know now, I think RISD kids that are interested in design should very seriously consider Cincinnati over RISD.

cost aside, I know RISD has a really strong ID program-- I have a friend who's a junior in it, and she does amazing work + just received a really prestigious internship in NYC.

I'm also going to RISD this fall, probably for fashion. I posted a blurb comparing my thoughts about RISD v. Parsons in the "Still haven't heard from..." thread, if you're interested!

I don't know if RISD is good in fashion but I do know for sure that Otis and Parson are one of the best and are more well known for it. If you plan to get into the industry those 2 schools will probably make a better impression just because they are more well known for fashion.
Some of the art schools do foundation years before you major in a certain area, so you get to try out a little of the stuff you maybe interested in as electives before deciding your major. I don't remember which schools though so you may want to research a bit on the foundation years.

CCA has an awesome ID program, you should also keep it in mind.

Pratt has a good ID program. I toured their campus and saw the ID department and was really impressed with all the student work hanging on the walls.
